Anyone else still in a carb coma from the weekend? I mean, Chris and I really set ourselves up for failure. We did a nice thirty days of clean eating. Not one little speck of shitty food. Then BAM four days of non-stop bbq’s. I can’t say I have too many regrets, although my body and head felt like I had been hit by a semi. If you have ever done a round of whole30, followed by a massive cheat weekend, it basically feel like you have a hangover. Without even drinking. I did happen to have a glass of wine this weekend which was glorious. In a sea of beer, which I hate beer. I hate the thought of beer, the smell, I can’t. Don’t ask me why, I just can’t do it. And Chris doesn’t drink, so you can just imagine how fun we are at a bbq.
But besides the hot dog overload, the weekend was a good one. We had friends over, which was just the best. I was hoping they would never leave. Their children are the quiet, polite type, and my children made their parents realize that the baby train was over. We put the final nail in that coffin. Sorry.
Other then food and fireworks the weekend was rather low key. There were some Fourth of July festivals around town, but I just couldn’t bring myself to the brink of a straight jacket having to chase Pierce through a sea of people and firework displays, you get it right?
I am however happy that some of the items I purchased before we moved to Georgia are getting good use. Tank tops, chokers, and platforms are ruling my life right now and I don’t see a light at the end of that tunnel. I can’t really ever give up denim, no matter what the humidity says, so my trusty flares are here to elongate the legs. If you haven’t invested in a pair of flares yet I highly recommend that you do. I know some people are afraid of the silhouette, but I am telling you if a short girl like me can look a few inches taller, anyone can!
Short and sweet for today, how was your weekend?
