This weekend we kept things pretty low key, and local. No beach adventures, not too much exploring, just stuck to some local favorites like a crepe or two and a coffee. Which after the busyness of last week, it was nice. We made it to the pool, and got out for a little bike riding, and just worked a little bit in the yard.
Last week Chris and I snuck out for a long overdue (last time we went out just us, we lived in Alaska) child-free evening. My kids have never been left with a babysitter before, my mom is the only one I have ever suppressed my paranoia for and had watch my kids. But thanks to some pretty awesome neighbors and their daughters who would like some summer cash, Chris was able to talk me out of the house. Which was great because we got to attend the Tongue In Cheek Chic pop up shop at the RMC Boutique in Downtown Savannah. I love supporting other bloggers and their businesses, and I got to meet a bunch of ladies in the flesh (and they are just as lovely as their Instagram feeds. Ha!).
After the event we had a work event to attend for Chris, which just so happened to be only a couple blocks away! Score on the parking front.
So we went there, did that, and then had time to kill so we went to an oyster bar near by and pretended like we were on a date night all along, and that I didn’t text Ace 300 times to make sure everything was okay. I may have even stepped out at one point to FaceTime some teeth brushing.
Everyone survived, and it was a great night! So here’s to a full fledged date night in the future!
