This post is brought to you by Christopher. Well, it will be in a second. After I talk….duh! Chris and I are notorious for getting each other gifts, and them never making it under the tree. They never even get wrapped. We clearly aren’t very good at surprises. I don’t think Chris is necessarily hard to shop for, it is just hard to find things he hasn’t already bought himself. For example, I was planning on getting him those Bose wireless headphones for his birthday….well he ordered them the day before I was going to. Good thing he told me! So for this gift guide I asked him to come up with some of the things he wants, or some of his favorite gifts he has gifted himself.
Razor Kit– On the weekends when I want to get a really close shave, I opt for a safety razor. This razor gets you a straight blade shave, without the concern of an actual blade cutting your face. This is not an everyday razor, I use disposable razors for my every morning shave, but for special occasions or on the weekends I will put in the time to use this razor.
Shaving Kit– I have tried every shaving cream that you can buy at a store, and this shaving cream is hands down the best! This gives you the smoothest shave, and the razor just glides across your skin. I swear this is the best, I have tried more shaving cream brands than Kelsey has tried makeup. This is it! The entire kit is a little pricey, if you don’t want to go all in, the shaving cream itself is a good buy.
Facial Grooming Kit– Kelsey got me this after I complained about needing a travel size kit to bring to the gym. I really like this, even though I didn’t know what all the little products did at first. I know now and I still really like them all. Great kit for traveling.
Outdoor Pizza Oven– Now this is a gift I hope Santa brings. Santa of course being me. Kelsey I mean we love pizza in this house, Pierce will tell you that is the only reason he likes Fridays. Pizza night. Growing up my dad made his own pizzas, dough and everything. I’d like to do that for my kids, or well, Kelsey would like to do that….and then eat it all. Has she explained in depth her obsession with pizza? I guarantee she could write a months worth of blog posts on it. I feel like this pizza oven would make her happy.
Day pack Backpack– I bought this backpack on a recommendation from a friend when I was going to climb Mt. Fuji, because I needed a lightweight daypack to get me up and down the mountain in one day. Since I have purchased the pack I have used this on every hike we have gone on as a family. Not only that but I use it when I attempt an outing with the kids by myself. Not to mention it just looks cool.
Wireless Headphones– I spent weeks reviewing bluetooth wireless headphones for running and working out, and it was between these Bose and the AirPods. What made me buy the Bose headphones was the sound quality. These may still have a wire, but the big plus is they come with different ear fittings (small, medium, large) so you get a more comfortable fit. They are also $50 cheaper than the AirPods.
Gingham Shirt-This is more of Kelsey’s lane, but I just know what I like, and this shirt is it.
Wireless Speaker-I got this over the summer to bring to the pool and the beach with us. It is small enough to throw in with all the kids stuff. It is really durable and waterproof.
Running Watch– For an affordable accurate GPS that has every feature you need for marathon training, this watch does it. This model is discontinued, but you can still get a refurbished watch for $80, which is what I did. The GPS on the watch is extremely accurate, you can also program it to conduct interval workouts, or customize workouts. This is a tried and true running watch, and so much of my runs require a precise GPS, which is why I highly recommend this one. Only downside is you can’t use bluetooth with this watch. This is where I switch to my Apple Watch for gym workouts.
Denim– Again this is Kelsey’s territory, but I am a creature of habit and this style of jeans is the one I stick with. They just fit really well.
Workout Shirt– This is actually a gift Kelsey can give me, I basically just want this shirt because it is a wick away material.
Ultraboost Shoes– I am such a loyal customer to the Ultraboost line. I am on my sixth pair of ultra boost running shoes, but these uncaged ones are more for casual wear (Oh, Kelsey just yelled the word is streetstyle).
Suede Chucka Boot– Kelsey bought me these a couple years ago, and now I feel like it is a shoe I just have to have. It’s my middle ground shoe from a dress shoe to a loafer.
Running Shorts-For running shorts I have to have the built in underwear. Kelsey wants me to delete that sentence, but I told her it was essential to the overall description of the running shorts. These are lightweight, and made for distance running.
Hydro Flask– Huge fan of Hydro Flask! In Alaska, I conducted a little experiment to see how long it would take warm water to freeze in the Hydro Flask vs. a regular non-insulated water source. After four days the water was still not at freezing temp, when the other water bottle was frozen solid in under 12 hours. I did this because I wanted to make sure I had a reliable water source for when I went into the back country in the winter. This can also be switched for warmer climates and it holds true. I have left this in my car in Georgia in the summer, and my water is still cold. This is just an essential thing to have.
