How is everyone doing after yesterday? Nursing your junk food hangover? That’s me right now. I don’t even watch football, Chris doesn’t really either. He likes football, and he probably would watch it if I didn’t keep him busy with a million other things. The kids now living in the south have adopted football as their only love. I mean really, you should see these kids at recess, it’s a little intense. We had nothing planned for yesterday so I meal prepped as usual for the week, and then at the last minute we were like….we need chips and salsa! But I made whole30 hot wings, because they are just the best things EVER!
Enough about football. I wore this outfit about a week ago and thought, I should wear more skirts. But skirts are hard for me. I grew up wearing a uniform to school, all the way from pre-k to high school graduation! This uniform included a skirt. I hated it. I was a tomboy and a skirt just didn’t fit that criteria. I was also a cheerleader, but that just seemed to be more of a costume than anything. I liked my jeans, as that love has carried on to adulthood.
Skirts hit weird on me. I am not very tall, so I either have to wear a high waist mid length skirt, or a mini skirt. Otherwise I look like a sack of potatoes. But then you get some mid length skirts that fit all wrong. I have thick thighs and a butt, so the gapping effect can happen real fast. Are you starting to see why I have a love/hate relationship? A lot of thought goes into a skirt purchase for me…..too much thought!
I found this one at Zara, and I just loved the detailing on it. I thought it would be perfect to style for winter, but could easily be taken into spring with a white button up. The wrap effect is great for the hip area, high waist will always make your legs long longer, and the plaid is just a classic that will never go out of style! Just a few tips incase you have a hard time finding skirts too!
And still rocking these sock boots 24/7. If it ain’t broke…..
