A couple weeks ago I was invited to the press preview for the Traditional Home and Southern Style Now showhouse here in Savannah. I was so incredibly happy that my side effects had subsided and I was feeling up to a day of full of interior design overload! If you have been following for awhile then you know that we have moved quite often, and we have always stayed in the rental home category. Which has always made me not want to put too much effort into decorating our house. Sad but true. I think after my breast cancer diagnosis I have felt this overwhelming sense of just wanting to settling down. Not wanting to move again, buy a house, and have a space to call my own. So going to this showhouse, I was taking notes, and pictures!
There were so many different designers that made this show house what it is! Each room was completely different, and as I walked around it just got better and better. Not too mention there was an endless supply of donuts being handed out, and since I couldn’t sip on the champagne, I was in a full on glazed donut coma.
Every detail was so thought out and creative! I mean, hello, wallpaper on the ceiling! I don’t even know what my design aesthetic is, but I was loving so much of what I saw.
I had so much fun meeting up with some other Savannah bloggers, and talking with the designers about the spaces they created. Events like this are such a nice distraction for me, and I feel incredibly grateful to be invited to marvel at other peoples creative spaces. The showhouse is open to the public here in Savannah until December 1st, so if you are a local I highly recommend checking it out. And if you aren’t, you can see so much of the house on Instagram or keep a look out for some photos in Traditional Home Magazine.
